Mossy Manor

What is Mossy Manor?

Mossy Manor is my attempt to recreate the magic of the point-and-click and flash games I loved as a kid in the 2000's, especially the I Spy and Nancy Drew games. I hope to bring some of that nostalgic experience back to the modern internet.

How does it work?

Each room in Mossy Manor will host different activities relating to that room. Interactive objects, like the tabs in this notebook, will be highlighted when you mouse over them to make them easy to find. At any time, you can click the back arrow in the top left corner to return to the previous page.

Updates to this site are likely to be pretty slow, but here's where I'll post an entry every time I make any changes.

That way, you'll be able to quickly and easily see if anything new has been added since your last visit.

4.3.24	-	(Hopefully) fixed some issues with fonts on mobile displaying incorrecty.
4.2.24	-	About page, sources and credits, and this update log added. Hello!
3.24.24	-	Replaced images on home page with better optimized versions for faster loading.
1.21.24	-	Home page added. Nothing to link to yet, but now the site isn't completely empty!
11.28.23	-	Site created. Not much more than a blank page for now as I still have to learn to code, but it's a start!

Visual Studio Code with the Live Server extension by Ritwick Dey - A great code editor. The live server plugin refreshes your page automatically whenever you make changes to the code.

Border Image Generator - Makes dealing with border images a lot easier.

Images:

Most (but not all) of the images I use on Mossy Manor are not mine, and are just ones I found on the internet to use in my collages. However, because each page is made up of dozens of individual images, it would be impossible for me to list every single one here. Instead, here are some sites and resources I've used to find them.

AI Blocklist for uBlockOrigin (for Google) and uBlacklist (for other search engines) - Makes looking for images via search engine a lot easier, as it filters out a lot of the spam/low quality AI-generated results.
https://www.pngegg.com/ - Lots of pngs available to download, but sometimes you have to scroll past a lot of generic clipart or unrelated images to find what you're actually looking for.
Tumblr blogs that post pngs, including snailspng, luvpngs, pngtransparent, thingsnpngs, transparensies, adjpngs, free-png, and png-heaven.
